Q . What is the major benefit of using ICF’s over alternative construction methodologies?
A: The major benefit of using ICF’s over other construction materials is that you are able to build a sustainable, energy efficient structure easier and faster.
Q. Why did you choose Amvic ICF’s?
A: We chose Amvic because the plus form is thicker which provides impressive strength; when pouring the concrete there were virtually no gaps where concrete leaked out.
“When we as a company switched to the plus form we noticed how stable the wall was during construction among other benefits. First being tighter interlocking and therefore less separation in the block joints during the concrete pour, second, less bowing between bracing which made it easier to straighten the wall, third, when the concrete is poured the wall has a flatter surface due to the stronger form (less bulging at the block joints), fourth, due to the wider panel there was less compression when pouring a higher wall. The plus form worked very well with the design of this home. There were twelve arched openings on this project; when cutting around these openings having a stronger form makes the construction of the wall go faster with less temporary bracing needed during the concrete pour. We feel that making the switch to the plus form was a very good decision.”
