Q&A with the builder:

Q. What was the major benefit of using Amvic over other building material products?

A. “We liked the R 30 Block because of the thickness so when we cut out the block to build the columns we needed that extra concrete core. We also like the interlock that connects the next row of block.”

Q. Why did you choose Amvic?

A. “The Amvic ICF Block was selected because the local lumber yards were the dealers and they had the R30 block which was ideal for this project. Amvic also has the Ampex panel for hydronic radiant heating which was also required to heat the floors of the poultry barn.”

Installer Quote

“The cost was not much more going ICF vs. lumber since we have our own concrete plant. We used lumber for bracing which was later used on interior walls. The fact that it’s a stronger higher quality wall was also a seller. The Amvic Territory Managers spent a few days with us at the beginning of the construction to assist with the Columns and initial stacking of the blocks. Also continued follow up and site visits throughout the build process.”

ICF’s are a very strong/durable way of building. The entire barn will be energy efficient and will help maintain temperature climates applicable for this type of structure/purpose.
