Victor arrived in Canada in 1998 with a Bachelor of Engineering and a PhD in Building Sciences where he identified an opportunity to provide the market with a green home building process like Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF), which would make building with concrete more efficient.
After researching the existing ICF market, Victor realized that the industry lacked an energy-efficient product that encompassed quality, strength, innovation, comfort and ease of installation. As a result, he decided to design and manufacture an ICF system that would provide these combined benefits to the consumer.
Thus, began Amvic’s journey to provide sustainable and energy efficient insulation solutions for homes and buildings for residential, commercial and agricultural applications.
CEO
Amvic’s primary manufacturing facility and head office is in Toronto, Canada with additional manufacturing plants located across Canada. Amvic has also aligned with several factories in the United States and internationally to produce high quality, energy efficient products. International locations include Mexico and Ireland. These factories are independently owned and operated by Amvic partners who share the same vision and manufacturing process as Amvic.
Over the past 20 years, Amvic has grown by leaps and bounds, expanding its footprint globally, acquiring multiple manufacturing facilities and constantly launching new and innovative products to add to the bouquet of insulation building solutions. Here’s our story in a few frames.
Our first generation ICF form was designed a year after incorporation.
Opened our first manufacturing plant in Toronto, Canada.
Launched our block molding and cutting capabilities.
Enhancements and improvements were made to the first generation ICF block.
Began manufacturing rigid board insulation for above and below grade applications.
Continued to innovate with our ICF product line and manufactured the award winning ICF plus R30 block.
Actively diversified into multiple product categories and launched our hydronic radiant in-floor heating PEX panel and basement subfloor panel solutions.
Expanded our manufacturing capabilities to cater to key western markets.
Launched our continuous insulation for exterior wall assemblies.
Further expanded our footprint to meet the growing demand for our products across North America.
Designed for one-way construction, low rise residential and small buildings
applications.
In order to meet increasing customer demands, Amvic opened a second ICF molding facility in Toronto, the facility joins the original molding plants at the McNicoll headquarters and Calgary plant.
Launched our continuous rigid insulation with integrated strapping for exterior above grade and interior foundation wall demands.
An insulated, prefinished panel designed to be installed on the exterior perimeter of a building at or near grade.
To provide solutions to prevalent radon gas regions in Canada. An insulated under-slab depressurization panel and a key component in a radon gas mitigation system.
