(A) - Residential (USA and Canada)
Amvic offers engineering services with respect to Amvic ICF walls for one and two family dwelling homes that fall outside the scope of the prescriptive tables mentioned in part 2.
There is a cost associated with this service which can be estimated and provided to the potential client upon request.
This cost can be embedded in the Amvic ICF block quote or provided separately depending on situation and client preferences.
(B) - Commercial (USA and Canada)
Amvic has allied itself with consulting engineers in the United States and Canada to offer our clients engineering services with respect to Amvic ICF walls for commercial buildings.
There is a cost for this service which can be provided upon request. Engineering for commercial jobs would always be quoted separately and it will have its own payment terms (typically 50% retainer and 50% upon completion).
Clients may wish to deal with the consulting engineering firms directly and Amvic will be more than pleased to assist its clients in doing so.
(C) - Prerequisites to Perform Engineering Services
In order to perform engineering services for residential or commercial projects the client is required to provide us with some important documents and information including:
- Set of architectural plans/sections/elevations preferably in digital AutoCad format. These plans should have sufficient dimensions and information to adequately describe the structure’s geometry. The plans may be emailed to our technical department at: mbolour@amvicsystem.com. Alternatively, the plans may be mailed to Head Office at 501 McNicoll Ave Toronto ON, M2H 2E2. If AutoCad files are not available then a hard copy may be suitable. In this case, the engineering service quote is likely to increase as the plans will need to be drafted from scratch.
- Information with regards to the finishing materials being used so we can determine what kind of superimposed dead loads to apply.
- Information with regards to the use, occupancy, geographical location of the building so we can determine what kind of wind, seismic loads and importance factors to apply.
- Information with regards to the soil or backfill density and allowable bearing capacity
- Information with regards to dimensions for window or door wall openings.
- Written description of the scope of work to be carried out by Amvic Inc.
